Best Quote Ever

Hank Steinbrenner in a recent interview with the New York Times:

“Red Sox Nation?” Hank says. “What a bunch of Bullshit that is. That was a creation of the Red Sox and ESPN, which is filled with Red Sox fans. Go anywhere in America and you won’t see Red Sox hats and jackets, you’ll see Yankee hats and jackets. This is a Yankee country. We’re going to put the Yankees back on top and restore the universe to order.”

Calorie Counting

Let's get this out in the open first...I am in no way an advocate of excessive calorie counting as a method for eating healthy and staying fit.

The kind of calorie counting I engage in, and I advocate, is very basic. Essentially you estimate the amount of calories you've burned through your daily workouts, and make sure that you eat an appropriate amount during your day to reach your goals.

Why I Like Training

I have a hard time understanding why so many people dislike exercise, and dislike training. There are just so many more positives than negatives associated with it. Because I'm just that bored, I'm going to take the time to share with you some of the reasons I enjoy working out.

Stuff White People Like

Now admittedly I'm a little racist. But I'm an equal-opportunity racist, I rag on all types of people equally. (Okay, maybe Asian people the most, but I'm Asian so its "okay".)

So when I stumbled onto this blog "Stuff White People Like" I just had to read through it all...and much of it is accurate and hilarious at the same time. I also can't help but feel like this is written by a white person...so if you've got some time to kill at work, hit the jump and check out their blog.

Digsby

I've been using this new program, which is still in private beta, called Digsby. Essentially the goal is to consolidate all your digital communication methods into one program.

For now I'm just using AIM, GoogleTalk, G-mail, Yahoo!mail, my school e-mail, and Facebook.

But the list of compatible features includes:
Chat Clients - AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, Jabber, GoogleTalk, ICQ
E-mail - POP3 and IMAP supported
Social Networking - Facebook and Myspace

clemens hearing

“This isn’t a hearing, it’s a show trial,” he told USA Today “And it is another reason why people are fed up with Congress. We’re facing huge challenges in housing, government spending, taxes and illegal immigration. Congress would be better served to focus on any of those issues instead of inserting itself into a name-calling, finger-pointing, school-yard brawl.” -- Rep. Patrick McHenry.

THANK YOU! At least there's ONE person in Congress with a brain.

Fat People

Largely Immoral? Or Immorally Large?

Fat people are so numerous that they have become the norm. I am considered a "freak" because I train hard and try to eat healthy. I look the way a normal human looks. I am not huge, I am physically fit, ready and able to tackle physical obstacles, run from attackers, and fight if need be. Apparently, having the normal physical traits of almost every animal on the entire planet is weird.

7 Days

It's One Week until Spring Training

There's only one week left until pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training. Although many of the Yankee pitchers have been working out in Tampa with Dave Eiland the new head pitching coach, many others have been working out at facilities nearer to where they live. A few position players have even made their way down to the Tampa facilities over the course of the past week.

Digital TV Conversion

So apparently the vast majority of the population either has no idea this is happening, or have no idea how they are going to be affected. The jist of it is that in a little over a year (on February 19th, 2009), the free over-the-air television broadcasts that some individuals (probably all senior citizens) will be shut off and switched to an all-digital signal.

Hide the Fatties

Keeping the fat away from the fat

In one of the greatest pieces of news I've heard in a long time, the Mississippi State House is proposing a law that would ban restaurants from serving people with a BMI higher than 30.

Although this legislation would never pass, and be extremely difficult to enforce (and surely cause a violent fat-people coup), it is certainly another step forward in the thinking of this country.

Fat people. You eat out too much. What you eat is not good for you. And you eat too much of it.
